[Csnd] An unfair request

Subject[Csnd] An unfair request
I am seeking two instruments for a small demo; human voice, one alto
one baritone, singing a single vowel like an arhhhh on known pitches

I realise I need fof but looking around I could not find that --
everything was either too complex to unravel/deploy, or too simple to
sound anywhere right. I do not need MIDI controls or stuff -- I have
the score already.

Anyone got such a thing? or can point me somewhere I can understand,
or do I have to commit time to it?

I realise this is unfair or cheeky but it would save time against a
deadline

Can you use any additive synth-type stuff?

There's an example from Cecilia that uses fofs and the cybil score
preprocessor. I used to have an example of a unified .csd with the
parts (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) separated out that didn't need
cybil but I think it's in my archives somewhere. As I'm digging
through them you might have a look at the Cecilia program where the
fof example originates. All you need to get it as a unified .csd is to
take it out of the temp directory after cybil has processed the score
and you have a malleable, complete .orc for further fiddling. I'll see
what I can find.

a few years ago i worked for some time on a soprano instrument, using fof.
never really finished it, it was a work in progress. only that after a
certain point it ceased to progress...

here's a short report:

http://www.eumus.edu.uy/docentes/jure/pubs/soprano/

it's in spanish, i'm afraid, but at the bottom you can find some audio
examples of the results. the instrument itself isn't terribly
sophisticated (i don't have the csound skills to be too sophisticated...),
but it isn't too basic either, and the results are more than passable, i
think.

if you find the examples good enough for your needs, i can rescue the csd
and translate the comments into something resembling english, so that you
can use it. i guess that adjusting the formant tables a little bit you
could adapt the instrument to use it as alto voice.

Hi Luis,

Thanks for posting that report! The audio examples were very
interesting; I had the impression at times where it would go into a
moment of sounding like a real human voice (generally when it had a
slight vibrato and was in the higher registers). I saved the Google
