[Csnd] MacCsound Not Launching

Subject[Csnd] MacCsound Not Launching
I've installed MacCsound on my 10.6.3 system, after upgrading to Csound
5.12.4. (At least, I think I upgraded. I ran the installer, but if there's
an easy way in OSX to tell exactly what version you're running, I have yet
to find it.) I also installed Rosetta from my Snow Leopard DVD, as
instructed, and then restarted the computer.

However, MacCsound 1.5 crashes consistently instead of launching.

The readme for MacCsound advises that I need something called
CsoundLib.framework, but gives no clue about whether that's part of the
5.12.4 installation or whether it's a separate download. And I haven't been
able to spot a Csound directory containing any sort of subsidiary files of
this or any other type. (On Windows finding installed files is pretty easy,
but, you know, the MacOS is friendly, so they hide stuff where you can't
find it.)

Below is a crash report, which may or may not contain useful details.
Suggestions welcome.

Enrico, I'm pretty sure that's the version I installed ... as I indicated in
my first sentence.

That is as you thought installed by the Csound installer, if you have
installed Csound 5.12.4 universal.

What I installed is Intel.dmg, not Universal.dmg. That's the version
that pops up on the Sourceforge download page as the "latest version,"
so that's what I installed. Okay, installing Universal solves the
problem. Thanks for the clarification.

Are there any differences in performance or functionality between the
Universal version and the Intel version? If not, why offer an Intel
version at all? If so, what exactly will users be sacrificing in order
to use MacCsound? I'm working on updating the Front Ends page in the
manual, so I'd like to document this.

The universal version is experimental. As it looks like it works OK,
It will be the default version for 5.13.
