I'm doing a little research. Is there any hard data available on the number
of downloads of each recent version of Csound?

Or, for that matter, on the number of downloads of versions of QuteCsound
and blue?

Hi Jim,

Under the files section in Sourceforge for each project, next to the
file there's a graph.  You click that and see downloads for that file
over a date range.  For example:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bluemusic/files/blue/2.1.x/blue_2.1.0.zip/stats/timeline?dates=2010-01-05+to+2011-01-03

Seems to imply that blue 2.1.0 was downloaded 1866 times.  Now, I have
no idea how accurate that is in terms of real people downloading it
versus some automated bot, but that's probably the only info
available.

In my experience, the numbers for the windows installers are wildly
inaccurate due to the number of bots downloading it.  I don't know
about the other operating systems, but I'd suspect inaccuracies there,
too.

Maybe that explains why the more recent windows release has over  
10,000 downloads and the older OSX one only close to 4,000.

Yes, there's definitely been a large uptick on the windows .exe files
since the end of November.  I'm seeing this in other projects, too.
