we are working on a new version which will then also include playable examples =) the current work in progress (about half of it completed) version is here: https://csound-floss.firebaseapp.com/ the new sources are here: https://github.com/csound-flossmanual/csound-floss the versions on flossmanuals.net (from which you can get epub or pdf) are: - https://en.flossmanuals.net/csound/_full/ (more recent but chapter 12A missing) - http://write.flossmanuals.net/csound/preface/ as to the printed version: i think menno is willing to provide one, and it should be much easier to go because of the new file base, and working with pandoc. but it will certainly take some more weeks (perhaps months) that we are ready to go. joachim On 24/11/2019 20:26, Cacophony7 wrote: > I want the Csound floss manual and I would like to buy it but I can't find it > on amazon. > Is it up to date? does it match up to the pdf? > does it talk about cabbage? > does it teach you how to compile Csound from source? > does it teach you how to make your own opcodes? > does it talk about Python? > > how up to date is it and how can I order it? > > > > > -- > Sent from: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Csound-General-f1093014.html > > Csound mailing list > Csound@listserv.heanet.ie > https://listserv.heanet.ie/cgi-bin/wa?A0=CSOUND > Send bugs reports to > https://github.com/csound/csound/issues > Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here > Csound mailing list Csound@listserv.heanet.ie https://listserv.heanet.ie/cgi-bin/wa?A0=CSOUND Send bugs reports to https://github.com/csound/csound/issues Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here |

... and by the way: contributions, for instance about new cabbage and blue features are very much welcome ... yes i agree. since we started this project (in 2011 i think it was) the flossmanuals.net platform changed two or three times. this is the reason for the different URLs. we will do this in future: 1. we will host our own version (perhaps as part of the csound organization on guthub). this version is written in pandoc markdown, has version control, can export all different formats (epub, pdf, ...) and also the examples can be played in a web browser without installing csound. 2. we will update our version on flossmanuals.net from time to time, based on this. hlöðver did all the import and wrote a nice environment for editing. i am reading now through the whole book, editing everything and rewriting some parts (together with other authors). i think we are in the middle of the book now, so perhaps around christmas we should have a first NEW version ... joachim On 25/11/2019 02:23, Pete Goodeve wrote: > On Sun, Nov 24, 2019 at 08:25:40PM +0000, joachim heintz wrote: >> >> the versions on flossmanuals.net (from which you can get epub or pdf) are: >> - https://en.flossmanuals.net/csound/_full/ (more recent but chapter 12A >> missing) >> - http://write.flossmanuals.net/csound/preface/ > > I have to admit I'm puzzled by all the apparent repositories for the FLOSS manual. > If I find something by web search, I may end up at "flossmanuals.net", "booktype.pro", > or I think other places.
