Subject[Csnd] Pre-announcement
The code for Csound 5.18 has been fixed, and we are just cleaning up,
checking manual etc. The intent is to release this version on
Wednesday this week; packages should follow shortly afterwards.

5.18 has the usual bug fixes, new opcodes, new options, improved speed
(minor) and internal improvements.

Hello John,

the files example/readf.csd, example/readfi.csd,
examples-xml/readf.csd.xml, and examples-xml/readfi.csd.xml are missing
in git/manual. When the manual is complete, I'll build the different
packages as usual.

Francois

Hi Victor,

Any chance you could package a double precision version of CsoundQT with the OS X release please? It's not essential if you haven't got the time, but it would be nice.

Many Thanks
Peiman

Yes, I knew. Placeholders there now. Really more musical examples are
needed like printing words of a song...

Hi,

Unfortunately, I won't have time to make a proper release of CsoundQt,
so one of the exisitng binaries will have to be bundled. The 0.6
series was built for floats and the 0.7 alphas are built for doubles.
0.6 are more tried and tested, and I'm not sure it's worth bundling
two versions...

That said, building CsoundQt is fairly simple, so if someone wants to
grab the sources for the 0.6 versions and build for doubles for this
release, it would be great. Unfortunately I don't have a mac or a
windows development environment set up, so I can't do it right now...

Cheers,
Andrés

excellent. you and the dev team are one of the most incredible parts of csound.

is there some kinda change log or something that lists the differences
between this version and the last? i'm not trying to add to the task
list; just asking ...

it's probably one of those things that falls under "cleaning up" ...
