| Announcing my latest "sound design" - PEEPERS: Sound Files for FileMix and
FileMixAuto (2012)
Here I'm really *assistant* sound designer, as my son Dave recorded the
source materials in Durham, North Carolina.
Spring peepers are small frogs common throughout the eastern USA and Canada.
They are typically found in forests and wetlands in large numbers.
FaileMix and FileMixAuto are two Csound utilities I wrote last year to
play/mix/process up to 4 sound files in Csound. Previously I'd put together
an initial alternate sound set called Remembering O'o. (The default
[included] set is called Dusk at St. Francis Springs.)
As usual, all materials are found at: http://www.arthunkins.com - at the top
of the composition list. There you'll find two .mp3 realizations of Peepers:
a 3.5 minute live demo performance using FileMix, and a 1-minute
autogeneration done by FileMixAuto.
You'll note these alternate sound sets are also useable (by children) via my
Linux/Sugar (XO) activities, FileMix and FileMixAuto.
I'm always happy for your feedback and observations.
