Common Lisp Music is a software synthesizer, like Csound.

Common Music is an algorithmic composition library/system, like CsoundAC.

Common Music is changing into Grace.

Both Common Music and Grace can be used with several dialects of Scheme or Common Lisp. In addition, SAL, which is part of Common Music, provides users a "procedural programming" dialect of Lisp.

GraceCL is the version of Grace that uses Common Lisp instead of Scheme.

Common Music and Grace both have "ports" that send generated score events to external synthesizers and other programs. What has just recently happened is that there now is a Csound 5 port for GraceCL.

So, GraceCL with the Csound port is probably what you want to play with.

I easily installed and ran GraceCL on Windows XP (but haven't tried the Csound port yet).

Hope this helps,
Mike
