I would suggest trying WinXound. It's basically the same as Lettuce, and doesn't really have many "bells and whistles". The latest version was recently updated due to some troubles, so it's working really well with the current version of Csound.

Subject: [Csnd] No Front End Works

Getting very frustrated here! Have been using an older 4.something
version of Csound with WCShell and it has worked flawlessly with good
results. Now I've spent two days trying to get ANY front end to work
with the current version of Csound with no luck. WCShell, which I
like--very direct, simple and to the point--will not run with the new version.

Csound is running fine from the command prompt, so I don't think it's
a csound installation problem.
Winsound crashes without any useful message telling me why, as does
Csound5gui. Lettuce keeps telling me it's looking for files that are
clearly there (tried all combinations of "d" and "f" csound, "32" and
"64" versions of Lettuce, putting lettuce in its own directory,
putting it in csound\bin, etc.). csedit also couldn't locate files
that are definitely on the hard drive, then gave error messages
concerning incorrect registry info (an area I try to avoid). I don't
really need a bells and whistles front end like Blue or
WinXound--just something that will allow me to edit the files (orc,
sco, csd) and quickly run csound. Realtime is not a big issue. Right
now I'm using using cseditor (which is fine for editing) with a
command prompt window open to run csound and Adobe Audion to look
at/hear the results. This works...but klunky.

I'm using a stand alone computer running Windows XP Professional.

Any suggestions?

Thanks--
