[Csnd] A new Csound Book - suggestions

Subject[Csnd] A new Csound Book - suggestions
Somewhere there was mention of a new Csound book in the works? If so, and if
it is nearing completion, maybe this suggestion is too late. I would really
love to have a NEW Csound book, not just a new edition of the Csound Book.
I'm going to buy whatever it is. I just try to avoid redundancy on my
bookshelf if I can. And I would have to be pretty hard-pressed, even in this
economy, to unload my old edition (2nd). I guess what I'm looking for is new
information, not just updated examples.

Dear Brent and Csounders everywhere,

I coordinated a day-long meeting last week, in Bath England, with John
ffitch, Richard Dobson, and Victor Lazzarini.
(Victor flew in from Maynooth to join us - and I flew over from Boston
to join them)

Together we organized and realized the outline and timeline for:

The Csound5 Book

It will be TOTALLY new.
It will cover ALL new material
It will be the sequel to The Csound Book

We are all putting the finishing touches on The Audio Programming Book
and so....

We start The Csound5 Book on October 15, 2009
We finish and deliver to MIT Press - The Csound5 Book on October 15,
2010

And hopefully, we can order copies around March 15, 2011

In a few weeks, I will post some details about what we are thinking
and planning.

Dr. B.

Totally new is good. 2011 is not good. But I will wait. Thanks for the update.

Well - The Audio Programming Book - with tons of cool Csound Stuff in
it, will keep you busy till then - and hopefully it will be out in
March 15 of 2010.

And... we may release parts of the book online - as we are writing it.

Dr. B.

Do note... The Csound Journal... is an awesome educational resource -
and at cSounds.com - we are totally into hosting tutorials.

Just a short newbie question,

is the first part of the current Csound book the same as that on view off the csounds.com site (called "Introduction to Sound Design in Csound" by Dr.Boulanger) ?

thanks,

alistair

Yes,

Chapter One of *The Csound Book* - is in print and online - and translated into several languages other than English.
