I have the impression, there is a but in flooper2. In the loopmode 1 (backward), the first part of the file until the loop is reached, is missing. Only the loop section is repeated. The modes 0 and 2 are all right.
Is this normal?

That is the normal mode of operation as far as I can remember. It loops from 
the end backwards to the
start of the loop and then back. If you want the beginning of the file to be 
there, you need to
set start to 0.
