That it does, but the problem is if you say are running Apple Python 2.3 and
have MacPython (whatever) installed, because /Library/Frameworks is
searched before /System/Library/Frameworks, the Python module will
always link to it. In this case, the only way of building for Apple Python 
2.3
is to temporarily rename the MacPython  framework.

But if you are building with MacPython, Csound will build and link to the
installed version of it (2.4 or 2.5). In fact the only selection required by 
scons
is the header file location, because the link is found by the gcc framework 
search
path.

I could have framed my post better.
To be clear, I meant that the API can be auto-built to the version of
python being used by Scons, irrespective of the version number.
