3.0 is the preferred version now. I moved to 2.6 because it is compatible
with 3.0 and also seems to be very widely supported.

Ok. so if I upgrade my Python to 3.0, I should be able to run Csound
(that requires python26.dll) ?

No. You need Python 2.6. The compatibiity between Python 3.0 and
Python 2.6 is Python source code compatibility, not extension module
compatibility.

Mike

So just to clarify

id like to do this install when it becomes official (been out of the loop
too long to participate in this trail sorry... havent been using 5.10
because of the ctrl thing basically... hoping to re-enter with 5.11 - see
what QuteCsound is all about + Lua)

would now be a good time to upgrade to python 2.6 then? shouldnt be any
drama vs 2.5 for most bog standard types of scripts?

assumedly no other dependencies necessary.... do i need to update quicktime
or something? this is the only info i have seen...

http://qutecsound.sourceforge.net/

talking Windows obviously

many thanks.

Hi,

Qt (www.qtsoftware.com) is the programming toolkit used by QuteCsound, which is not the same as QT (QuickTime), so no Quicktime necessary...
Qt is an optional install on my QuteCsound installers, I'm not sure how Michael is handling the install of Qute on his installers, but they probably install them as well.

Cheers,
Andrés
