Perhaps my link to it's commercial availability:
was too concise.
Here's Amazon's blurb:

The first was 1971 (from memory) Pub. by Indiana UP. Translated by
Chris Butchers. I still have my 1973 copy, heavily annotated! I was a
first year undergraduate at the time. The extra chapters in the second
edition include more on time&space, sieve theory, dynamic stochastic
synthesis and an update bibliography etc.
It is a seminal, sometimes (technically) infuriating book. If you
have problem with the maths, just _read through_ them. The book is
_much_ more than a "how to" book. I had the privilege of spending time
with him in the 1980s and wrote a small article of his importance to
me as a composer on his passing:
Iannis Xenakis: A composer’s perspective Organised Sound Vol 6 No. 1
Cambridge University Press (2001) pp 75-76. Subtitle: Vale I.X.
It can be downloaded here:

If you're really stuck and want to read it, email me off list.
And of course, the music is fantastic. I find the further we are
historically removed from them, even the early stochastic works are
amazing!
