| Hello Csounders,
I am looking for some help/advice or a solution to launching Csound5
from the Mozilla Firefox Browser specifically
(but would be happy with a Safari solution as well.)
In the past, I used to enjoy the fact that I could install the Csound
Catalog on my HD and (from Internet Explorer)
click on a .orc or .sco or .csd file and automatically launch Csound
from the browser and load that
chosen .csd into (at the time) MacCsound and then render it.
I would do this by setting up a .csd MIME type and then tell my
browser how to identify files wth .orc, .sco, or .csd extensions
and then specify that the browser should handle such files by
launching a specific application - then MacCsound.
I am trying to do this again.
(In hopes of discovering a solution for the OLPC XO laptop as well)
So
- I know about the MisFox Application - that lets me edit and add
MIME types on the Mac for Safari
- I know about CSedit - that lets me edit and add MIDI types on the
Mac for Firefox
With now success so far, I have tried to get a .csd to launch the
Csound5GUI, Csoun5CSDplayer, Smultron, BBedit, nothing?
Any clues, advice, secrets or success to report?
Anyone in the Csound community launching Csound directly from their
Browsers?
-dB
