Yes to almost all of those questions if you use the latest release
available here:
https://github.com/cabbageaudio/cabbage/releases
It's still alpha, but the GUI designer is working pretty well I think.
I have never done any side-chaining, but you can easily route audio
into a plugin effect, perhaps you can reserve one input for an
external signal, and another input for the main signal?

Of course the limitation with the above approach to sidechaining is
that you are restricting to mono inputs.

hey! thanks a lot. it really is amazing

you mean i can split one stereo input to a carrier and modulator?
what if i want to build something with multiple side chain inputs?
and what about midi routing for effects?

i haven't seen any manual on the page you linked me. is there a cabbage manual somewhere?

Maybe not the right place for cabbage bug reports. But I downloaded the new Cabbage for Csound6 Alpha for win32. And running any example causes Cabbage to crash(I can open change settings, just cant open an instrument). Im using Windows 8.1 64bit....

I haven't done much with MIDI routing, but I can post a simple MIDI
effect to the Recipes section of the Cabbage forum at
www.thecabbagefoundation.org, feel free to register there and ask any
Cabbage only questions. In the future it will be possible to do proper
side-chaining. For now I'm waiting till the VST3 sdk matures a bit :)
