[Csnd] Raspberry Pi question

Subject[Csnd] Raspberry Pi question
I've only recently become aware of Raspberry Pi- I guess because of the Blackberry I'd ignored developments, thinking the Pi was a platform for phones and tablets or something like that!

What I'm not seeing, scoping the thing, is what kind of horsepower does it have? Running Csound is one thing- great!- but what about 64-bit, running 8x sampling rate, that kind of thing?

if anyone could give me an idea, or point me to the information, thanks!

I guess raspberrypi.org would be a starting point.

The model B Pi has 512mb of RAM with 700mhz CPU that can optionally overclocked to be a bit more.

It's by no means a powerhouse, but the the size and price do make it quite useful for modest realtime csound projects, especially with a USB soundcard. I recently ran an entire installation off of a single Pi for 12 hours and found the thing to be remarkably reliable.
