[Csnd] change sr on Raspberry Pi with USB audio

Subject[Csnd] change sr on Raspberry Pi with USB audio
Bought a C-Media Xear 3D USB sound card.
Works nice, but I would like to lower the sr from 44100 to 22050 to get some
more out of the Pi.
When I do this, the audio gets doubled in pitch. Probably because the USB
card is still on the 44100 rate.
I have no idea how to change that.
Any ideas?

Looks like that card can support that sampling. Are your instruments
using samples by any chance?

Not using samples now.
I tried it with a realtime effect and on Paul Batchelor's 'pangelis' synth for example.

In that case I'm stumped. My soundcards usually pick up on whatever SR
I set in Csound?

That's not always the case (I think). I have a TASCAM US-144 that
seems to only be able to run at 44.1k.

I just read something very similar on the alsa list just now. Seems something might have changed on the Pi with the most recent kernels. Kernel 3.6 was reported to work as expected.
