Subject | [Csnd] pd-extended installed still pd.dll error |
Hi. I apologize because i fear that this topic has been discussed over and over again but i wasn't able to retrieve any useful information. I have installed csound (version 6010, with csounQt 0.8.19) along with pd-extended (version 0.43.4-extended) on windows 7 x64. Still i get the error that the software cannot be started because of the missing pd.dll. I know how to prevent the pop up from appearing, i just want pd to work correctly though :) pd.dll is of course present under C:\programs (x86)\pd\bin . Is there any environment variable i have to set to prevent this from happening? Thank you in advance for your reply! You can reinstall Csound and choose not to install the PD extras. That should get rid of the errors. Of course it won't install the csoundapi object for pd but if you dont need don't don't install it. sent from a mobile device... On 3 Jan 2014 07:41, "shadown" <andreathepsyco@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi. Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately this is not my aim. I know i can get rid of the message tis way, but i would like to have pd integration with csound working :) Regards, Andrea. -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/pd-extended-installed-still-pd-dll-error-tp5731174p5731178.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Are PD and Csound built for the same CPU architecture (32 bit aka x86, or 64 bit aka x86-64 or x64)?
Are PD and Csound built for the same sample size (32 bit or 64 bit, this is not the same thing as CPU architecture)?
Both of these have to be consistent. Hi. Thank for your reply. Both software are 32 bit cpu architecture, and csound is using double precision (64 bit) sample size. I do not know how to verify the sample size used by pd, but as far as i know there is only one binary file available for windows installation, so i assume this (sample size) may not be relevant at startup time. Of course i may be wrong here :) Regards, Andrea. -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/pd-extended-installed-still-pd-dll-error-tp5731174p5731185.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Actually I'm not sure the sample size needs to be consistent. Your PD DLLs will need to be in the PATH environment variable that Csound uses, though. You should probably just add the PD bin directories to the Windows PATH.

Thank you very much! Now it's fixed! I was giving for granted that there was some dedicaten env variable and forgot to check out PATH (d'oh!). Now i have to solve a lot ob stability issues but i think this is material for another topic (feel like a bloody rookie :D) Thank you again! -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/pd-extended-installed-still-pd-dll-error-tp5731174p5731190.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
