Casually glancing at the code, I realised there is an alsaseq midi interface (rtmidi=alsaseq) in addition to the usual raw alsa midi. Has anyone ever used it? Dr Victor Lazzarini Senior Lecturer Dept. of Music NUI Maynooth Ireland tel.: +353 1 708 3545 Victor dot Lazzarini AT nuim dot ie |

Looks like Tito's work from 2012. Nice. Yes i am using the alsa sequencer - but i don't know why. I was setting up Jack and choosing this MIDI driver. And Csound worked with it. The section in the manual file:///media/ManualUSB/manual-git/html/UsingRealTime.html#RealTimeLinux must be updated, because there is talk that "Csound does not automatically create its own ALSA sequencer port. It creates an ALSA raw midi port each time it runs.". I do not know so much about the differences and why the MIDI sequencer is better, perhaps someone can produce sensible text? -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/alsaseq-tp5720579p5720952.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

yes, that used to be the case, but Tito Latini added an alsaseq module last year, so that needs to be explored in the manual. I don't know too much more about this either.
