[Csnd] Python csound installer

Subject[Csnd] Python csound installer
I am almost ready to release a beta version of a music tutor program I wrote.
It uses Python, Csound, OSC and MySqlDb.
Ideally I would like a user to be able to do one install - I've read about
easy_install and pip.

But:
To make it platform independent, several install packages would be needed
Csound would have to be installed with the csnd option (can this be done?)

Any recommendations/experiences?

So my question is:

How can I make Csound part of a Python installer package and make sure that
the 'csnd' option is selected?

Here is a demo video showing the initial release of my music tutor, based on
Python and Csound.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjY8DkuNSmw

On my site it is described how to install this. It takes a few steps,
because the program depends on MySQLdb, OSC and Csound.

Unfortunately I didn't find a way to combine it all into one package.

Nice work Richard. Good luck with future developments.

Thanks Rory, I'm also rather pleased with it.
The newer version now looks for updates of the program as well (besides new
lessons).

BTW, because I upgraded to OS X 10.6.8 I finally could try Cabbage - it's
great!
A very nice GUI addition to Csound. I can't wait till the AU version is out,
or is it already?

regards,
Richard

Not yet. My OSX machine, already 6 years old is really struggling to
keep up at the minute. Compiling can take up to 5/6 minutes which is
very prohibitive. As I don't use OSX too much myself I can't really
justify spending money on upgrading. The good news is that Cabbage
should build out of the box on OSX so if anyone wants to have a go I'd
be happy to help them out. It shouldn't really take that long to sort,
I think!
