Subject[Csnd] new release of the csound floss manual: your requests
hi -

we are planning a new release of the csound floss manual
(http://en.flossmanuals.net/csound/index) for the end of march.

are there any requests from users about what is missing or what should
be improved?

i cannot promise that we can satisfy all wishes, but it would be good to
know anyway.

thanks -

Some info on the new platforms (iOS and Android) would be nice.

All the best,

I can throw something together on using csLADSPA. I use it with my
second years so I should already have some notes lying around that I
can rework.

The floss manual is a great resource. Thanks for creating and maintaining it.

I checked the section 03.B: "Local and Global Variables" and saw nothing about t-variables. The traditional manual has a few scattered items about t-variables but it was hard for me to get the big picture. Would it be possible to add some material on t-variables?

many, many thanks!

thanks, lou. yes, i think we need a completly new chapter about arrays.
i hope i can do it for the next release. i am very curious to test this
in csound6 alpha, perhaps starting next week.

In the section, "How to execute a simple example using CsoundQt", it would be useful to include a link to a "troubleshooting" section in the Qt docs to help the user determine why sound is not being produced in the current configuration.

what do you mean by the "'troubleshooting' section in the Qt docs"?
is this perhaps more a suggestion for csoundqt itself?

No, I'm only suggesting a link to the relevant section of the CSoundQt docs. I don't know whether it is called "troubleshooting" or some other name in CSoundQt.

hi menno -

as always, this depends on a volunteer. for the first release, alex has
put a lot of work in formatting and much more for getting it printable
by lulu. i will see if i can make him drunk during the linux audio
conference (perhaps rory can assist me) so that he says "yes" again. or
someone else picks this up.

but i understand from your question that you think a printed version is
useful, and this is also good to know.

ciao -
