Hmm, interesting. Can you describe the behavior exactly? Does it happen after a certain fixed time, or under particular conditions that you can establish?

(I'm assuming this is for the internal MIDI control that goes directly to widgets without passing through Csound)

I don't think anything has changed in that area of the code, but maybe something new elsewhere has revealed a preexisting problem...

Hi Andres,

Yes this is the internal widget control rather than Csound's MIDI input.

I make a new csd with some slider widgets. Set the controller numbers correctly to correspond with my USB nanokontroler. All works fine.

I quit the programme and reopen it again with the same csd. midi controllers don't work.

Opening the widget inspector reveals the correct controller number. I zero this and retype it anyway and press OK. It now works!

I don't have any way of checking if this applies only to a usb interface or nor but I doubt so.

Thanks
Peiman

another issue to add while working with midi in csoundqt (the usual
midi, not the "internal midi interface" for the widgets) on osx:
after running and stopping any csd several times, midi is no longer
working at all (for instance the MIDI_IO_Test shows nothing). we have to
restart csoundqt, then midi is there again.
i guess this is because of some portmidi problems, and i am wondering
whether coremidi could be included as a choice?

This could be the portmidi reentrancy problem again. Yes, you could try using coremidi, -+rtmidi=cm or -+rtmidi=coremidi

Note that I have not implemented midi output in coremidi, but if this module becomes useful, I can implement it.
