What is the intended target of this book? Novices in both sound design
and programming? Experts in one field but not the other?

Subject[Csnd] Re: Audio programming book
For sure we want to teach "musicians" how to program in C and C++
- and so we take them from square one in some chapters,

But, we also wanted there to be depth as well, and so, there is a lot
of intermediate and advanced
topics and materials that are covered as well.

We are not teaching Sound Design at all - although all the code and
apps are absolutely cool/essential/standard tools for Sound Designers.

There is something here for everyone. Actually, there is a lot here
for everyone - beginner, intermediate, expert.
- and it's ALL here. - and it ALL compiles!

It's for students.
It's for experts.
It's for Computer Musicians.
It's for Computer Scientists.
It's for Plug-in Developers.
It's for iPhone Developers.

It's for anyone who wants to know how "it" really works.

It's the missing piece.

and....

It's for all of us.

Hope you find it useful in your studies and work.

Subject[Csnd] Re: Audio programming book
I can't wait for this book. It looks amazing.

As being a musician before finding CSound, I have found the
programming side a bit confusing. But after looking at the contents of
the book, it will be great to learn the programming side of C and C++
with an audio twist to it.

I can't wait to learn how to create some custom Audio Units.

Thanks Dr. B!
