There is a conflict with a variable name in a couple instruments and another problem with instruments 40 & 41 filters that I don't quite understand at this point.

Works for me on Ubuntu,

The original script was using inx, inz and inch as variables names, but
they are now opcodes.

Corrected a typo in line 699 : goto next3

Very nice instruments !

With Csound version 6.03.2 (double samples) I also have to modify (line 98 of
René 's version)
i(kdur1/4) into i(kdur1)/4 in order to compile.
Nevertheless, only 11s over the total 124s of Hans's track are non silence.

That's because backward compatibility is no longer preserved in
Csound6. The use of i() with an expression used to be permitted,
although it was syntactically ambiguous. It's no longer permitted.
Therefore any instruments that use this type of syntax are now broken.

Do you know why about 113s of the track is silence?

We cleary have different opinions on this. Surely any instruments that
compiled and ran in Csound5 should also compile and run in Csound6,
regardless of whatever silly things the parser might have been doing.
Anyhow, least just say backwards compatibility is a murky area and
leave it there :)

Hi,

If you comment the reverb score line (i192 .....) the sound comes back,
so there is a problem is the reverb instrument. (it is returning a lot
of nan values)

Csound display a lot of WARNING : Division by zero, but no line number
information.

Best,
René

Interesting...I'm still waiting to see if anyone knows a solution to getting
some of Hans Mikelson's drums to work as they did...in particular, a bass
drum I'd really like to have back and functional.

I always thought one of the "selling points" of Csound was that an orc/sco
would always work from version to version???

Best,

Hey,
I have a version that doesn't divide by zero. I added four initializing
lines (49, 190, 297 and 472) for the accent controls that simply grab the
first value of the table they're assigned to.

@Hans : does this sounds like it used to? The bass drum Aaron is refering to
(first heard at 0:08, right?) sounds a little high, no?

Hi,

I certainly had a good laugh hearing that again. I forgot I had put all those other sounds in there. Some cool stuff in there (as well as some lame stuff!) Yes, the drum accent seems to be messed up the way you re-did but at least it renders, unlike the other version. I’ll see if I can figure something out.

Regards,
Hans Mikelson

Commenting out i43 at 40.5 allows it to keep rendering but kills the drums (i30) throughout the entire song for some reason. That’s weird, since i43 doesn’t start until 40.5.

Greetings All,

It is a pleasure to announce the release of a new Csound project titled, "Echoes and Reflections". Over 56 minutes in length, Echoes and Reflections consists of five algorithmically derived compositions. Each is a multichannel piece intended for the concert hall or art gallery but the 4.1 DVD or Blu-ray versions come across beautifully on a surround sound system. To hear MP3 versions of all of the pieces go here: http://www.perceptionfactory.com/echoes-and-reflections-2014/

Especially exciting for me is that it is my 20th published project... so it is a bit of a personal milestone. http://www.perceptionfactory.com/music/discography/

Best wishes in all things,

Michael
