Here's a vintage sounding vocoded sound made with pvs. Sorry, it should really say: "oxygen"! http://idisk.mac.com/peimankh/Public/pvsvocoder.aif P PS The code has a max interface so it would make no sense to post it here but it'll be in fftools soon. Dr Boulanger, it's actually kontrast with side-chaining! Best, Peiman On 4 November 2011 05:41, Dr. Richard Boulanger |

I think we Csounders have definitely missed a trick here. Apple have virtually patented i-somethings, and NI have k-this and k-that. I have every confidence that when Apple have used up all the available feline names they will switch to lemurs and call the next version of OS X "aye-aye". Csound products (and especially any aimed at the aye-phone) need a cool initial, or we will simply be passed by in the rush to corner the alphabet. Z ("zee-fof", "zee-vocoder" etc)? yes, perhaps we can get zen ze german gouvernment to support csound ... but as richard pointed out irrefutable, we should definitely start a campaign to get the copyright of a character. apple has the i, ableton will certain reserve the a (or triple a?), so let's not come too late (and then just sharing the nil together with some other latecomers). i'm just not quite sure whether z is a really good choice. then, sorry, zen certainly supercollider will reserve the y and always cite this as a evidence than it is faster than csound. perhaps a double campaign: a) reserve the character z b) let everyone read in reverse, so that z is the first, and a the last character (this could probably be patenting the old direction of reading, and demand horrendous fees if anyone wants to execute it) ? all worst - mihcaoj Am 04.11.2011 11:43, schrieb Rory Walsh: > If we use Z we'll all sound German.
