| With CDBaby, it's $25 one time sign for a project and $4 per CD
(last I checked). Whether you sell for $9 or $12, their cut is a
flat fee. Don't recall what their cut on "downloads" was.
Still, the Google deal isn't bad. I could go for that too.

The real question for me would be, how does the marketing work? How
would the artist be able to compete with already established artists?
I know nothing about services like google music. I'm curious to know
what other alternatives would be.

Subject: [Csnd] Google Music - Artists
Hi All,
I thought this was sort of interesting, Google Music launched today
and they allow direct signup by artists:
http://music.google.com/artists/
Artists get to name their own prices and setup their own pages. It's
pretty much the same fees structure as it is for selling apps on the
Android Marketplace, $25 to sign up (one time fee), and 30% of sales
goes to Google.
Anyone have thoughts about fees compared to other services?
Thanks!
steven
