Subject[Csnd] [ANNOUNCE] Cabbage Beta v0.01 (Windows)
Hi all,

I'm glad to announce the first public beta release of Cabbage for
windows. Cabbage is a plugin toolkit that lets users create plugin
effects and synthesisers using the Csound audio programming language.
The project homepage can be found here:

http://code.google.com/p/cabbage/

Further information:

- Stefano Bonetti has kindly allowed me to ship Cabbage with his
latest version of WinXound even though it's not publicly released yet.
Many thanks to Stefano for this. In order to get the most out of
Cabbage I recommend you use with WinXound. (I've spoken with Andrés
Cabrera and CsoundQT support will be added, but at a later date).

- I've added some videos to my vimeo page(accessible through the above
website) that show how to get set up and started. I've also uploaded a
few tutorials on how to build some simple plugins. I'll be adding more
to this as time goes by.

- I've started a "Quick Reference" wiki on my Google page but the
quickest way to learn about the different widgets is by browsing the
examples that come with the download package.

- A mailing list as been created so that users can share their own
Cabbage recipes. Please report any slugs(that's a Cabbage bug) to the
Cabbage mailing list rather than to the Csound mailing list. This will
make it easier for me to keep track of
issues/suggestions/comments/feedback.

- For those of you interested in an OSX version I'm currently waiting
to receive an upgrade disk to get me to OSX 10.6. Once I have upgraded
I'll be working on porting the beta version to OSX. Please be patient.

- Pre-compiled binaries for Debian flavoured Linux should be available
in the coming weeks.

Regards,
Rory.

wow, very nice. That 2D controller is very nice. Is it possible to
make multichannel plug-ins and instruments too? This would be amazing
and very usable with reaper 4. All looks very solid and beautiful.

We can thank Damien Rennick for that XY pad, it's pretty neat. The
answer to the question about multi-channel stuff is yes, but with some
hackery. I'm currently looking into this.
