Hi all,

sorry for this newbie question,
but i do not find the correct solution:

in csound syntax, -odac refers to the built-in sound system on my mac.

on FreeBSD one can write -o /dev/dspX.X
to talk to the different soundcards.

But how to proceed to speak to an external card on osx 10.6.X?

i found on my system (jack report):

Device name = 'Built-in Input', internal_name = 'AppleHDAEngineInput:8,0,1,0:1' (to be used as -C, -P, or -d parameter)
Device name = 'Built-in Output', internal_name = 'AppleHDAEngineOutput:8,0,1,1:0' (to be used as -C, -P, or -d parameter)
Device name = 'Digi CoreAudio Device', internal_name = 'DigidesignCoreAudio10' (to be used as -C, -P, or -d parameter)
Device name = 'Soundflower (2ch)', internal_name = 'SoundflowerEngine:0' (to be used as -C, -P, or -d parameter)
Device name = 'Soundflower (16ch)', internal_name = 'SoundflowerEngine:1' (to be used as -C, -P, or -d parameter)
Device name = 'MOTU UltraLite mk3 Hybrid', internal_name = 'com_motu_driver_FWA_Engine:0dbb209000' (to be used as -C, -P, or -d parameter)

but all i try does not work, and even jackd does not start at all
(not jackpilot, but jack from the macports.

jackpilot works, but once more i do not know how to tell csound to send it
the sound data.

any hint or better an example would be appreciated.

-odac0 , -odac1, -odac2 etc. should do the job.

-odac will be whatever you choose as default in your system preferences.
