[Csnd] Announcing a New "Composition"

Subject[Csnd] Announcing a New "Composition"
Well, not really a new *composition* - rather a new set of soundfiles for
performance with my recent Csound filelooper/mixer/processor utilities,
FileMix and FileMixAuto.

The new "work" is called: REMEMBERING O'O; its four files are edits of the
Kauai O'o audio excerpt found on the eartotheearth.org's website. The Kauai
O'o is a now-extinct bird formerly native to the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
The introduction of black rat, domestic pig and disease-carrying mosquitoes
are thought to have contributed to its demise in the late 1980's.

The zip archive for the files, as well as an explanatory text file, are
found at the head of my list of compositions at: http://www.arthunkins.com .
Actually, there is one set for normal, cross-platform Csound5 performance
(MIDI recommended; ASCII keyboard optional), and another, trimmed-down set
for my FileMix and FileMixAuto incarnations as Sugar Activities for the XO
computers, as well as Sugar-on-a-Stick (Fedora Linux).

A sample performance .mp3 is found at:
http://www.arthunkins.com/Remember.mp3 .

It only took about 20 seconds of listening for me to stop listening, because I knew I had to have the .csd and hear this in high quality. I have gotten a bit tired of bird sound mixes from browsing Soundcloud, but this is wonderful Art (pun intended).

Hmm, I am getting "invalid or corrupt zip file" with two different extractors. I guess it is back to the mp3 for now....

IMHO beautifully done Art. Quite subtle yet powerful.

Keep up the great work.

Haunting on this yet-another gray day here in NW Ohio. Beautiful and
sad, bittersweet.

Best,
