Subject[Csnd] f-rate? fsig?
Hello everyone,

In a few recent postings, I've seen reference to the terms "f-rate"
and "fsig." These are new terms for me.

I checked my manual for csound 5.08 and can no mention of these terms.
Can anyone provide a pointer for me?

thanks!

fsig is the generic name for the signal type used by the streaming pvoc
(pvs~) opcodes. "f-rate" is a slightly confusing term (not of my
invention), because there is only an indirect relation between fsigs and
the usual audio and control rates. The fsig frame rate is limited to
being slower or the same as k-rate, so in that sense one can talk about
an 'f-rate'. It is really the pvoc "analysis rate". "f-rate" is a neat
abbreviation of that, I guess!

Look in the current manual. These types are used in the streaming
phase vocoder opcodes (pvs opcodes). See the heading Tools for
Real-time Spectral Processing (pvs opcodes).

The manual, however, still does not list this type under its
discussion of variable types.

Mike
