[Csnd] [OT] Pulseaudio and Jack

Subject[Csnd] [OT] Pulseaudio and Jack
Hi all,

I recently made a breakthrough which solved Pulseaudio and Jack issues
for me. It's probably a known solution, but it's not sufficiently
advertised...

I installed the pulseaudio-jack-module package, and then enabled the
jack audio sink and source for pulse audio. That way, I have jack
running and pulse audio goes out through jack, as explained here.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1581522
It seems to work very reliably on Ubuntu 10.04 at least.

Cheers,
Andres

I must try that. One of my ubuntu boxes works fine with pulse, the
other not so well.

If you have jack2 installed, jack should negotiate the card with
pulseaudio automatically.

Yeah, but having pulse routed through jack is so much better than that.

Hi,

What I've done is have QJackCtl automatically call the pulseaudio jack
modules when jack is started, which has the same effect. It works very
well.

Cheers,
Andres
