Gee, Thank you AKJ. It's really nice to get praise, especially from yourself, since I'm really humbled by your work.

I did write a Diving 2, (in fact I wrote it before Diving part 1). But I wasn't really satisfied with it.

I have written a 'Diving Prologue'. You can download it here.

(umm... don't go exploring the URL, I'm still cobbling this site together).

Sorry, no single CSD for this one. Diving Prologue uses Csound, Composers Desktop Project and the 'Geometer' plugin from DestroyFX. I vaguely remember I used a scala file ... oldani.scl I think... for the tuning.

The grand plan was... is... was... maybe.... to have Diving Prologue, parts 1 - 4 and Diving Epilogue. Years ago I wrote an 'analogue' version (i.e. dots on paper) - although it's not at all the same.

I'm interested in any existing publications on this topic. Or just a
general direction to people who've looked at it, journals that would
typically cover this area.

I know that Finale and Sibelius have implemented human touch but it's
not anything like I envision.

Thorin,

All I know is this--'Diving' raised the bar for me in terms of creating a vivid sonic universe of beautiful richness in Csound. It's the most _sensual_ piece I've ever heard in pure Csound, besides this one mind-blowing all-Csound work BT (a master of sound design, the reigning one I think) did that someone posted here, and I think I might even like the musical content/style of it even moreso than what BT did in that one!!! I think a blow-by-blow breakdown of what you did in that piece would be an education for us all. Teach, teach! And, it was also impressive from an algorithmic standpoint...

Oh man, please do a 'Diving' album....!! I'll (maybe) check out this prologue later today, but I'm so stressfully busy right now...

BTW, is the 'Diving' concept simply an audio painting of your impressions of being underwater in a coral reef, etc. or are we to invision one of those 'infinity' pools with Greg Luganis jumping in ala an old Chanel #5 ad, or neither? :)

Well.. glad you like Diving I. In terms of sound design it doesn't really hold a candle to that BT track (was that 'All that makes us human, continues'? That's got some nice sounds... It'd be nice to get some orcs from that one). It was more about be trying out some algorithms, and on that level I think it worked. Tell you what... rather than fill up the mailing list... I'll finish my 'googlesite' with some blurb about it, and mention the link here.

Truth is from my perspective, I think the beginning and end are OK, but, the flute bit in the middle doesn't do much for me.
