[Csnd] 3 new pieces with particle synthesis

Subject[Csnd] 3 new pieces with particle synthesis
I've uploaded some new pieces to soundcloud.

Two of them are improvisations using feedback (via a mic) into the
Hadron Particle Synthesizer. Pitch analysis of the live input is used
to control certain synthesis parameters, giving the instrument a touch
of chaotic oscillation. No other source sounds are used, only
microphone feedback.
The third piece is a composition based on different rhythmic textures
made up of particle (or grain) patterns.

All are considered "work in progress", and of course all was made with Csound.

Hope you enjoy them, and comments are welcome..

And since it's soon the season for extra gifts, I decided to upload
two more pop/rock/funky tunes,
also made with Csound/Hadron (except some simple drum programming and
backing vocals on one of the songs)

What is "Hadron Particle Synthesizer"?

oh, it's an instrument build around the partikkel opcode in Csound,
it will be available real soon.

Dear Mr. Oeyvind,
nice works! And thanks for sharing.
I have downloaded FeedingThe... 1 and 2, but the files are really distorted
(maybe clipped is the right word).
Really different by listening on Soundclouds. Only a my problem? I don't
want to be noising, only that i like to listen a piece (when interesting
like Yours) many times and then, when possible, i like to downloads it.

Anyway, again thanks and ciao,
francesco.

Francesco,
thanks for the interest, and for the concern about the technical
quality of the files.
I tried downloading the wav files from soundcloud and they seem to
correspond with my originals, so I think there is nothing wrong
technically.
However, the original recordings are heavily saturated, as for now
this is a byproduct of the playing technique. I do agree that it can
be disagreeable (depending on taste too...), but still I found the
organic and adaptive nature of the feedback process in this context to
be interesting enough that I wanted to do some recording and sharing.
The "transcoded" version used for streaming on soundcloud may sound
less clipped, as the filters used when compressing the audio could
possibly "round off the edges" a bit.

best
Oeyvind

Hi Mr. Oeyvind,
no, i like Your pieces and also i know that the feedback tecniques produce
some distorsion, but listening on Soundcloud
it is a nice distorsion (!), and i like it, but when i had downloads i get a
really different result, like a hard clipping at half amplitude. But
probably it is a my mistake.
I will try again; but the important thing is that i really like Your pieces.

Again thanks,
ciao,
francesco.
