Asking for a friend: the need is for 8-out soundcard and USB is very attractive as it can run on laptop. We have looked at M-Audio and Eridol external boxes. Question is will they work with Linux? So far only limited information found Thanks ==John ffitch Send bugs reports to the Sourceforge bug tracker https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=81968&atid=564599 Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here To unsubscribe, send email sympa@lists.bath.ac.uk with body "unsubscribe csound" |

I have two M-Audio Delta 66 units and an Edirol UA25 (not the EX version). Both work flawlessly with my Ubuntu and Debian boxes. Neither item provides the requested channel count, but if these units work okay you might have good experience with the expanded models (M-Audio Delta 1010 or 1010LT, not sure what Edirol makes that will meet the requirement). I hear that RME sound cards work well on linux. But that's the PCI version. So this might be attractive? I don't know if this one works on linux though. http://www.dv247.com/computer-hardware/rme-multiface-ii-pcmcia-bundle--29947 P On 13 December 2010 10:32, john ffitch |
