Subject	[Csnd] csound and python
	Okay..this is getting a bit annoying. When installing 5.15.1d on windows XP, the installer says that csound requires Python 2.7..which is fine, I have it installed. But when I try to run csoundqt, I get a fatal error that says it can't find Python 2.5. Why do I need both versions of Python? And if I don't, can someone please fix this problem so that either one or the other works for both csound and csoundqt? (I'd assume 2.7 would be the preferred version). 	Hi, CsoundQt is not currently linked to python, so it sounds like you have two separate versions of Csound installed, or at least two separate sets of plugins. 	The Windows installer can install both CsoundQt and CsoundQt-py, which is linked to Python. 	I think the problem may be caused by installing CsoundQt from its own web site instead of from the Windows installer, which includes it. Why not just install "Complete?" 	Hi Michael, I'm currently not distributing any windows version that includes python support in CsoundQt, so I think the warnings must come either from a previous conflicting installation (possibly Robert downloaded a version of CsoundQt for floats, which links to an old floats version that's lying around his system) or from the installer packages. So your suggestion to install the version of CsoundQt from your packages is the first thing to try.
