Viagra is back! For awhile the FIRST link had some ads for Csound, disappeared for awhile. I'm not sure who is currently updating the site, but I am sure Richard Boulanger or someone else able to address this will see this at some point to be taken care of.

Alex, Sigi, all, this is the result of SEO poisoning, where and there was some malicious code on the site when I inherited its maintenance. The viagra spam was a result of a little script that injected junk of the sort to Google's spider when it detected that a spider was visiting the site instead of a human guest. this resulted in a large number of pages which had spammy search results, yet pointed to correct pages on Csounds. I am working with Google Webmaster tools to laboriously eradicate the offending results by checking each page and its nodes for malicious shell and php scripts, and then notifying Google to re-index the page's content. This takes a while. The reason it seemed to go away in the search results was because Google began processing my requests, but I may have missed a few out of very very many pages. Alex, thank you very much for posting this, and I will investigate the page/node in question. The breach has been detected and patched, now I am just cleaning up quite a bit of content as we prepare to overhaul and add features to the site. John Clements, volunteer webmaster, Csounds.com

Just re-submitted the page Csounds.com/mikelson to Google, which does not guarantee that they will complete all requests for re-indexing, so we will just hope for the best here. We are doing much better. Viagra used to come up in the third or fourth link when you googled 'csound'... Best, John

Thank you, Dr. B- I am learning as I go, and very glad for the opportunity. I will continue to monitor and re-index pages that are still incorrectly cached by Google. I certainly hope the ugly SEO scripts have not reared up again. I am grateful when members of the Csound community alert us to any issues and share suggestions for improving the site, as it really is quite overdue for implementing some of the changes that were discussed at the Csound Conference.
