[Csnd] Is the binary install "history"?

Hi List. My search of Csound links for anything close to "binary install" comes up empty. Is the binary release a thing of the past? I can imagine why it may be, but would like to be sure before tackling a 5.15 build (on Debian Squeeze). Thanks, PMA Send bugs reports to the Sourceforge bug tracker https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=81968&atid=564599 Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here To unsubscribe, send email sympa@lists.bath.ac.uk with body "unsubscribe csound" |

I wonder if the Windows installer stuff would work with Wine. Regards, Mike On Wed, Jan 4, 2012 at 2:10 PM, PMA |

Tito, when can we expect a port of Csound to the C64 ? Wine can be acceptable for some things (eg I run the libsndfile test suite under Wine) but it should not be seen as a general solution. Erik |

I would think that a Debian package will be coming soon. Felipe? Felipe would be building a package for debian unstable not debian stable which the original poster was asking about. For the original poster, if you want to run something a litte closer to the cutting edge, I highly recommend debian testing. I run debian testing on all my machines and find it to be almost as stable as stable, but far more up-to-date. Erik |

I thought you could installl a debian unstable package in any debian installation. Victor Lazzarini wrote: > I thought you could installl a debian unstable package in any debian installation. Usually not the case, especially for a debian unstable package being installed in debian stable. The other way is usually more likely to work. The problem is that that the package compiled for unstable would be compiled against library versions that are in unstable and may not be in stable. Erik |

P.S. I'm not necessarily determined to avoid a build at *all* costs. You mean it's stuck at 377 and you have to rewind and start again! Oh happy days with the c64. The software equivalent of waiting for a kettle to boil. My Wichita Falls neighbor came home in '81 with a C64. The day after he figured out how to work its tape drive, his house burned down. My daughter, now an astro- physics PhD candidate, still won't forgive me for having let her (as a 4-year-old) sleep through that. Oh, you should have seen the joys of basic in a ZX81 clone (ca. 1984). On 4 Jan 2012, at 23:16, Rory Walsh wrote: You mean it's stuck at 377 and you have to rewind and start again!
