[Csnd] FFTOOLS

Dear all, Here is the latest version of FFTools. http://idisk.mac.com/peimankh/Public/FFTools_2.9.4.zip I think the programme is now relatively bug free and usable. The downside is that I have not written a manual yet. But the interface should (I hope) be intuitive enough to encourage a plug and play approach. I welcome all suggestions re improvements. This version includes the following DSP modules: kontrast: similar to GRM tools "contrast". It breaks the input sound into equal frequency bands (each band may be one or more FFT bins wide). It then sorts these bands into three groups according to their spectral energy (based on user-defined thresholds). The dynamic level of each group can be controlled separately. So this allows you to reconfigure the spectral energy contrast of FFT signals, can also be used for simple noise reduction in some cases. Accepts files up to 8 channels. Warp: a frequency warper akin to the GRM tools' but with more controls and better sound quality. Accepts files up to 8 channels. Mincer: An interface for mincer, including the ability to draw automation (or generate controlled random values) for pitch and file-pointer. Mono and Stereo for now. Partikkel: an interface for partikkel similar to the above. Mono or stereo input, up to 8 channel output. circumspect: experimental spectral panner. Works with 6 or 8 channel set-up. (This was discussed in my last Csound Journal article and will be presented at the conference.) Mono/stereo input up to 8 channels output. Comments and bug reports are welcome. Best, Peiman |

Thanks it looks very interesting. Should it also work on windows? best Oeyvind 2011/8/10 peiman khosravi <peimankhosravi@gmail.com> Dear all, |

Thanks Oeyvind, It should in principle, but I haven't got a machine to build it. The sources are there (and the externals are I think all cross-platform) so you can probably built it yourself. If you manage to do that then I will be happy to make it available for download (mentioning your name of course). Hi, this really looks interesting. I would like to try it, but I only have the pre-compiled floats version of 5.13 for OSX 10.5 and you need to have the doubles version, right??? So therefore, is there any pre-compiled doubles version for OSX 10.5 or higher (I am on 10.6.8), or do I need to compile from sources? The release package includes both floats and doubles. If you have installed it, then you have it. Victor On 12 Aug 2011, at 08:00, Andreas Bergsland wrote: > Hi, > this really looks interesting. To check try to run "csound64" in the terminal and it should print Csound messages. Best, Peiman On 12 August 2011 08:38, Victor Lazzarini |
