The opcodes were not done with SWIG, and so are not version dependent.

The issue of Csound depending on Python 2.7 was raised in a recent post.

Now, I had gotten used to Csound being dependent on one specific python version,and when some of my students asked if Csound supported Python3 I said no. But, brave as they are, some of them tried, and actually got Csound to run with the python opcodes, using Python 3. I haven't investigated further, but thought it appropriate to ask if it is indeed possible, or perhaps they have an old 2.7 lying around somewhere and Csound found that one to link to.

As far as I know, some of them use OSX and others Windows. Unless I'm mistaken it works for them with either OS.

Come to think about it, it would be strange if it works with Python 3 under windows, as Csound looks for the python27.dll ..., but would it be remotely possible that Csound supports Python3 on the mac?

Is it time to jump to Python 3 for all platforms perhaps?
