Hello, For a project I'm working on, I was wondering if someone could explain to me, or give me some pointers, on how the .dat files for the hrtf opcodes (hrtfmove, hrtfstat, hrtfmove2) are made. I would like to try to make alternative ones from different HRTF measurement sets to provide a choice to the listener. Thank you, Hector -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/hrtf-opcodes-dat-files-format-tp5732820.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi, Yes I would be interested in this, too. In fact, I was wondering if it would be possible to use the HRTF opcodes with "null" (i.e. flat) files, so no frequency-domain filtering takes place, and use the signals for loudspeaker reproduction (e.g. for the reflections and reverberation). I suppose the opcodes also produce interaural time differences. Maybe someone knows how these time differences are calculated? For instance if they are encoded in the HRTFs or if there is an algorithm calculating/applying them externally (e.g. based on distance between ears)? Hector, information on the data preparation can be found on page 104 in Volume 1 here: http://eprints.nuim.ie/2580/ It is important to note that the opcodes are designed to use the MIT dataset (other datasets may have different spatial sampling techniques). Marlon, there is also some information in the thesis about ITD extraction, it can be quite a detailed process! You can find most files mentioned in the thesis here: http://bmcarty.ie/book/ Brian -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/hrtf-opcodes-dat-files-format-tp5732820p5732937.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Thanks very much, Brian. I was able to access the thesis, but wasn't able to download the files under the link http://bmcarty.ie/book/. Clicking on the chapters opens a URL to a zip file, but there is no file download prompt.
