I'm the one responsible for suggesting that Csound6
won't run on XP.
I was wrong - it *does* run, unless you want to run
realtime with MIDI input. (It's external MIDI control that doesn't
work.)
Example: run my SpiritusSanctus2.csd (toward top of
www.arthunkins.com) with a MIDI
controller with 8 sliders (CsOptions: -odac -M0). The run stops dead at the end
of the output below, with only two CTRL-C's bringing the commandline fully back
to life. (I imagine you'll get the same result with *any* MIDI input device
plugged in.)
Just tried this with Csound6.02 today; this problem
has existed with Windows XP since 6.00.
