[Csnd] Approximating a turbine

Subject[Csnd] Approximating a turbine
Hey hey again,
in combination I also need an approximation of a turbine. It doesn't need to
be physically correct, but sonically satiisfactory. The project is a sort of
soundscape or "cinematic sequence".

Note: I have read one paper on "numerical modelling of wind turbines" and seen
other papers touching on that question. However, the numerical modelling
paper, didn't need a good frequency approximation, since it was only
interested in sound pressure, and all of these papers pose the difficulty that
I can't read any mathematical relationships nor part of the variable names.

One initial idea: would it be possible to use the model of an aeolian harp, or
more precisely the m_aerosound opcode, which models wind blowing past a
cylinder?

Best wishes,

Jeanette

I would try white noise with a granular envelope that gets smaller and closer together as the frequency gets faster.

Thanks! This sounds interesting and simple.
