Subject[Csnd] new release: Food for the Moon
Hi all,

I have just released something new, a live performance from a couple of nights ago at Outpost 186 in Cambridge, MA. It's another piece that uses my Implication Organ instrument (written in Csound and running on a Raspberry Pi), with additional processing using both modular synth and pedals.

For this piece, I delved into the genre of drone metal or doom drone, something I've been wanting to do for a while as a big fan of Sunn O))) in particular. I think it worked pretty well despite the complete lack of guitars, amp stacks, black hooded robes or smoke machines. Ironically, the performance space had a pretty meager PA with a single speaker, so I had to mix it down to mono for the live audience, but the recording was made directly from my mixer and preserves the intended stereo image.

Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for listening.

BTW, if you happened to check this out yesterday, I replaced the sound file early this morning with a re-mastered version that I think sounds better.

I'm a little late to comment on this, but I only just got around to listening.

I really liked the shape you gave to this. At around 11 minutes it's really getting quite intense and full of tension, while later it all resolves quite majestically. It's a work which transforms any mundane activity into a solemn ritual, complete with robes and smoke :)

Well done, and thanks.

Thorin

Thanks, Thorin. I actually told the audience that they would have to imagine the black robe, the smoke machine, and the amplifier stack. :-)
