Subject[Csnd] Simple question about an error
Hello,

I get an error when I assign a table number for ftgentmp and that the instrument stops —but none when the number is automatically generated.

sr = 44100
ksmps = 128
nchnls = 2
0dbfs = 1

instr 1
//ifno:i = ftgentmp(0, 0, 512, 10, 1) does not cause an error when instrument stops
ifno1:i = ftgentmp(500, 0, 512, 10, 1)
print(ifno1)
endin

instr 2
icast:i = p1 * 100 // here what my way to assign the table number
ifno2:i = ftgentmp(icast, 0, 512, 10, 1)
print(ifno2)
endin

i 1 0 1
i 2.01 0 1
e

Is there a a way to avoid this? Could it be cause a gorgeous crash right in the middle of a live performance?

Thank you,

JB

Hello Jean,
I have no concrete info, but it seems that the docs might be dubious on this
point. The whole point of ftgentmp - as I understand it - is to generate
temporary tables, which only exist for one note. It is still strange,
considering the manual entry.

Depending on your needs, I'm sure you can easily avoid this situation.

Best wishes,

Jeanette

   ^ not here?
Shouldn't back slash be in a different place? Double back slash negate the line???

instr 1
> ifno:i = ftgentmp(0, 0, 512, 10, 1) // does not cause an error when instrument stops
                                 more like here   ^    ^ since this is a text note?
