[Csnd] New vibe coded csound tool

Subject[Csnd] New vibe coded csound tool
I made a tool, mostly for myself. It is a tracker that interacts with csound wasm live.

there is a really crappy demo track i sequenced while I was testing. just click "1" where it says "demos".

it can spit out a csd too. Overall, I am happy the way it's going.

be forewarned there might be bugs! ie, not sure how the audio import works since I haven't tested it (will work on this next with wav editor and slice markers that automatically create init values in your instrument where the sample points are for each slice). And there still may be some note on/note off bugs but I think I got rid of most of them and if you hit stop it panic turns off the instruments anyway so that's not a problem too much.

Hi Josh!

Impressive, thanks for sharing! I guess the main code is here: https://github.com/knobcore/knobcore.github.io/blob/main/tracker.js ?
Can you tell a bit about your vibe coding experience? Did you let agent to write also Csound code? How well could it realize Csound-for-the-web realization?

Thanks!
tarmo

I really miss not being able to move through cells with the keyboard. It means having to constantly use the mouse, which breaks flow. Also, copy and paste would be nice for multiple cells. And a history accessible through the up/down arrows for each cell would also make this much nicer to work with. But it's really great.

Keyboard navigation worked at o e point maybe Claude nerfed it.

The sampler is operational now. Has slice markers, standard editing, and sample preview. You can drag and drop folders of samples but be careful since it maps to ftables for now I may decouple that so you have a wav pool that can send to the ftables pool. I know there are limits to ftable numbers or there was at one point.

I need to find a way to zip up the wavs along with the csd. And some other things, but out of credits for a few hours.

You can select multiple cells with click and drag but it's a bit buggy ATM.

Tarmo yes that's the one. No, I coded the instruments, but looking at implementing some UDOs. Claude is such shit at writing csound code with proper rates the opcodes expect I have to tell it to read the manual for I/k/a rates all the time.

Nice project! It'd be interesting to find ways to help Claude and other AI write Csound code. Perhaps we could start a repository that has a shared document and claude skill that users could point their AI to for reference on Csound coding practices. Could be a useful document for humans too for best practices.
