Subject[Csnd] new Csound People video
Hi all,

i just finished and uploaded a new video to the Csound People website: https://csound.com/people.html

This video completes the series i wanted to make on how people of different generations are using Csound. experienced Csound users/developers (Michael Gogins, Dave Seidel and John ffitch), but also Csound beginners.
The latest video is about students, how they use Csound and how they see the future of Csound.

(I apologize for the quality of sound and image of the interviews; all is done via Zoom.)

I hope you like it and that it helps spreading the Csound word.

greetings
Menno

hi menno -
that's a great advertisement for csound, and very nice to watch.
but it is a pity that you do not want to continue your videos ---
perhaps you can think about it again ...
it would be wonderful if we can show some more part of the very diverse
community which we for instance experienced on the last conference in
vienna.
i am not very happy about the title. after "Dave Seidel", "Michael
Gogins", "John ffitch" now "First Encounters" feels strange and not
really fitting for me.
suggestion: "Sam, Bethanie, Strong Bear, Susan" as title, and as
subtitle: "Encounters with Csound".
cheers -

Hi Menno,

Great video!
And such bright, smart and wonderful young musicians, I remember them vividly also from Vienna.

Thanks for making and spreading it!

Hi Menno,

These videos are truly wonderful! I sincerely hope you find the time to create more of them.

I also agree with Joachim's suggestion regarding the subtitle. Sam, Bethanie, Susan, and Strong Bear are fantastic Csound users, and it would be great to see their names featured alongside the impressive list of individuals you've already highlighted.

Thank you once again for producing these. The Csound community is already indebted to you for your work on the manual, and now you give us these. Thank you!

Rory

Thanks all for the compliments!

My main goal of making these videos is to show people that Csound is not 'old school'. It is just basic knowledge and that doesn't change.

That was why in the videos,  i was looking for a balance between experienced users, people, that have paved and are paving their own musical path with Csound involved, and young peopleshowing that Csound is relevant now and in the future.

Making these videos takes a lot of time; thinking about a theme, approaching the right persons, doing the interviews, looking all back and 'feeling' where the importance is of their stories. Then making it one big story that makes sense and then there is the video editing itself. That was all new to me.
Perhaps i can monetize my gained experience some day....

So, for the moment, i will stop making new videos and do other stuff.
