Hello everyone, I’ve just uploaded a short piece based on microtonal serialism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3DNGRFEGxU The rules follow Schoenberg’s twelve-tone technique/serialism, but the series are microtonal. In this case, the octave is divided into 24 parts, and the series consist of 24 steps. If you’re interested, I can send you the score privately (it’s entirely written in Csound). Enjoy the listening! Cheers, Luca

Thank you for sharing the piece, Luca. I have listened several times now, and I especially appreciate the phrasing and breath in the texture and form of the work. I am a huge fan of Reverb, but for me, there is too much in this 'mix' and it makes it difficult to appreciate the timbres and the counterpoint fully. Being both a fan of Schoenberg and of microtonal timbral design, I would love to see the csd and see how you realize the work. appreciate especially the phrasing. And, I might try to render the csd with a bit less verb to see if I am right about the lines and timbres having more actual space to speak. PS - your piece Ritmo evanescente popped up too, and I am enjoying that as well. You are working with very complex structures and lines here, too. Even with this piece, I am struggling with the mix. You have separation, but, for me, the 'ensemble' lacks coherence - every player is in their own 'practice room' Thank you again for starting my day in such a wonderful and thought-provoking way. I hope you do not take offense at my comments, as they are not meant to be criticisms, just reflections and second impressions. Wishing you all the best. - Dr.B Dr. Richard Boulanger Professor Electronic Production and Design Berklee College of Music Professional Writing & Technology Division On Thu, Jul 3, 2025 at 4:20 AM Luca Pavan <pavan@panservice.it> wrote:
