[Csnd] New music: Running Inside (a fugue)

Subject[Csnd] New music: Running Inside (a fugue)
Hey hey,
I have just released a fugue entirely done in Csound:
https://youtu.be/LoTuh63B1GI
This fugue has been realised using the virtual Chafe group, a set of (semi)
physically modelled instruments, placed in 3d space using binaural
spatialisation through the hrtf opcodes.

This time subtle room sounds have been added. The creeks from the walls,
ceiling and floor have been synthesized (badly, but they're too subtle to
notice that :) ), movements of the players are based on samples that are
randomly scheduled. To celebrate this little extra, you can hear the musicians
walking up to theiir instruments in the intro.

Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to link to a few other - more or
less - baroque fugues I did, with and without Csound involvement:
Fugue for Cariad (organ fugue using Aeolus):
https://youtu.be/Qmp7owQzteM
The queen is dead: prelude and fugue based on synth samples loaded in
LinuxSampler:
https://youtu.be/otTwVsenZ0I
The queen's fugue: full exploration of the fugue based on hardware synths
(Behringer Neutron, Arturia MiniBrute 2S, Make Noise 0-Coast, Waldorf
Microwave Xt):
https://youtu.be/cIF0JocnaDA
Partita in E-minor: prelude and counterpoints played with a sampled piano
(LinuxSampler) and processed through Csound for 3d audio:
https://youtu.be/RwlJyio5tGc
Symphony of Love Illusive II Scherzo (Orchestral work with counterpunctual
techniques using LinuxSampler and
Virtual Player Orchestra / Sonatina Symphony Orcestra SFZ library):
https://youtu.be/7vNi--527Sk

Share and enjoy,

Jeanette

:) No, Chafe as in the Csound Hemi-Acoustic Folklore Ensemble with:
Jameela Mwangi on Xylimba
Shisai Tagawa on Array Imbala
Parvati Muni on Djamble
Abigail Adams on Stringle
Isabelle Merchant on Lutano
and
Tatjana Diokowa on handpan

It's composed of one CSD containing all the instruments. You can play them
live and then render a MIDI file to separate instrument tracks. Another CSD
processes them into the 3D version. I think I used a third CSD to add the
incidental effects. Oh, it will be a task to work with it again. :)

Best wishes,

Jeanette

Jeanette,

I enjoyed this (Chafe) very much. I'm partial to fugues as a compositional form/technique.

Will peruse the others and report back as well!

Hi Aaron,
many thanks for the kind words. I hope that you can enjoy any of the other
fugue or counterpunctual works. I love fugues as well, I just wish I was
better at it. I suppose only practise makes perfect. :)

Best wishes,

Jeanette

Wow, Jeanette,

Your Chafe Ensemble is awesome.  The piece is great.  If Wendy Carlos only knew Csound, she would be working with your Chafe ensemble too!  So inspiring - on all levels.
