Hope so. It's a little embarrassing being a musician of Armenian extraction,
and not know how to play a duduk.

@Partev
Duduk is really hard to play. I play several types of ethnic flutes. and duduk is one of the hardest I have to admit.
It takes lot of power to play it. But be patient and you'll handle it!

T epadsynth is the recent addition to Csound. I'm happy that is available now.
it's worth to explore.

Yes, you are right!
Drone was added after recording was done, during post porcessing.
It's generated with pad-synth algorithm. It's very handy technique
to create "alive" pads

Duduks and Ouds,... embarrassing, Armenian-American and I don't
play either one. I never could handle reeded woodwinds Don't know
the bansuri. NAMM Anaheim is coming up, I guess I'll be trying a
duduk at some point. Keep going by the booth every year and passing
on playing one. Guess I'm committed now.
I think the duduk is the one that starts out the piece. Sounds
like across between a clarinet and oboe. Smoother than an oboe,
harsher than a clarinet.
Bansuri looks similar to the bamboo flutes I used to have, or
the Shakuhachi that I do have.

... wiki entries for those who are curious. Duduks and woodwinds
from Asia have a wonderful tone. I enjoy dabbling at them.
The drone,... running a Csound file?
This "Rishikesh Morning Bliss" is quite wonderful. Very good.

Hey hey Anton,
this is a beautiful track. I can empathise with the title. Lovely,
constrained playing there. Though I wonder which is the bansuri and
which the duduk. :) From a Csound point of view, I like the reverb. What
did you use: algorithmic or convolution based?
On a different level the recording is interesting: the calm playing in
the foreground, contrasted to the background of, possibly the first,
cars and blaring horns. This city must have an interesting atmosphere.
Looking at the basics on Wiki, it sounds rather densely populated and
still the performance is so calm. Perhaps its nickname has something to
answer for there? :)
Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed that very much, especially in the
approaching west European autumn.
Best wishes,
Jeanette
