I like the idea a lot but the holidays are hard to free up time. I could imagine doing something in the new year with some monthly or quarterly prompts, some shorter 48 hr weekend music-a-thons, etc. Could start an organization site and communicate bigger news here and day-to-day on Discord.

With December just around the corner, I've got an idea that I think could add some musical joy to our month: a Csound challenge! Inspired by the charm of an advent calendar and events like Advent of Code, this challenge is all about having fun and making music with Csound.

Here are the two formats I'm considering:

1. Daily Challenge: Imagine sending in a short Csound piece every day, each one based on a unique prompt. It could be a daily exploration of different equal-tempered tunings (edo), for example.

2. Collaborative Challenge (proposed by a fellow: Picture this - a collective effort where we build on each other's work, creating a collaborative piece that evolves over time.


I'd like participants to share the code for their pieces and consider licensing them under a free license. That way, not only do we have a blast making music, but we also end up with a collection of awesome examples for future Csound enthusiasts to learn from.

So, what do you think? Would you be up for such an event? I'm all ears for your thoughts and any suggestions you might have to make this even better!
